Private & local-first

Private AI meeting notes that stay on your device

By George Muchiri WanjiiLocal-first · offline mode
Short answer: Wazomind is a local-first meeting assistant. Your audio, transcripts, summaries and history are stored on your own computer — not on our servers. Turn on offline mode and transcription runs entirely on your device, so nothing leaves it at all.

Most AI notetakers upload every call to their cloud and keep it indefinitely. For sensitive client, legal, health or internal conversations, that's a non-starter. Wazomind was built the other way around.

What "local-first" actually means here

By default, everything Wazomind produces — the transcript, the summary, the action items, your uploaded knowledge-base documents, and your cross-meeting history — is written to your device. Our servers never receive or retain your meeting content in ordinary use; they only handle metering and billing. You own the files, and you can delete or export them whenever you like.

Offline mode: nothing leaves the machine

Need maximum privacy? Switch on offline mode and Wazomind transcribes and assists using a model that runs locally. In that mode there's no external call at all — ideal for regulated work, air-gapped policies, or simply calls you'd rather keep entirely to yourself.

When you're online, here's exactly what moves

If you're not offline, the only thing that leaves your device is short segments of audio and text sent to your chosen AI provider to be transcribed and returned — over HTTPS, using your own key or our managed service. No third parties. No ad trackers. Nothing parked in a Wazomind cloud archive.

Questions people ask

Where are my meeting notes stored?

On your own device by default — audio, transcripts, summaries and history all live locally. Our servers don't receive your meeting content.

Can it work fully offline?

Yes. Offline mode runs transcription and assistance on-device with a local model; nothing is sent externally.

What leaves my device when I'm online?

Only short audio/text segments to your chosen AI provider to transcribe, over HTTPS. Nothing is stored on Wazomind's servers.

Is my API key safe?

Your own key stays on your device; the managed key is held server-side and never ships in the app.

Can I delete everything?

Yes — export or delete your local data any time from the app.
